Blues / Masaccio arrived in the Italcertifer Laboratories

On Friday 23 July, Hitachi Rail's Blues / Masaccio vehicle No. 2 arrived at the Osmannoro Laboratories after an initial test phase carried out by Italcertifer at the Italian RFI circuit in San Donato, Bologna.

The train will be equipped by the Italcertifer Laboratories for certification and engineering tests that will take place on the Italian Railway Network in autumn.

The twin train, vehicle No. 1, is currently engaged in a test campaign at the Velim circuit, in the Czech Republic, where the Italcertifer Laboratories are also involved in in the vehicle tuning and certification phase.

Blues/Masaccio is the modern Hitachi Rail platform for single-deck trains, developed and built in Italy, and whose compositions can be equipped with electric propulsion, diesel-electric propulsion and battery or hybrid propulsion (an aspect that allows configuration solutions for any type of railway line, both for suburban/regional and interregional/intercity services with speeds up to 200 kmh / 125 mph).
