Italcertifer is awarded the tender for the modernization of the Voluyak - Dragoman railway section in Bulgaria

The contracting station DP NKGI - Bulgarian National Railway Infrastructure Company - awards Lot 1 to Italcertifer SpA, as Notified Body for the assessment of conformity to the TSI (pursuant to EU Directive 2016/797) for the INFRA, ENE and CCS subsystems of the Voluyak-Dragoman railway section and Lot 2, as Assessment Body for the assessment of the risk management procedure of the same railway section, in compliance with (EU) Regulation no. 402/2013.

Both lots, whose construction contracts amount to a total value of Bgn 367,000,000 (approx. EUR 1,876.57) are part of the modernization work of the Voluyak-Dragoman railway section in Bulgaria. The duration of the works is established for 49 months.

This development is part of the projects financed by the European Community as an integral part of the TEN-T corridors that pursue the general objective of creating a single multimodal trans-European network to integrate land, sea and air transport, as required by Regulation (EU) no. .1316 / 2013.

The modernization of the Sofia-Dragoman railway line, the Serbian border for the Voluyak-Dragoman railway section, will provide a boost to the connection between the Baltic and Black Seas.

The acquisition of both lots confirms Italcertifer's ability to be a point of reference in the field of railway certification in Europe and denotes the possibility of actively contributing to the realization of strategic works aimed at the development of interoperable European railway corridors in compliance with guidelines of the European Union.

The award to Italcertifer also certifies the Company's constant commitment to certification and safety to guarantee passengers, the environment, and the constant safe implementation of new technologies in the Railway System.
